Music Ish: Sade
I’ve loved this woman since my early teens and I can’t help but turn up this particular song any time I hear it (it’s one of the few highlights of my radio listening experiences!):

I’ve loved me some Mary J Blige since – and gosh I’m gonna feel old for this – nineteen ninety…two?
Real Love was my JAM!
Not too sure what I think about her new CD, Stronger with Each Tear, but I like this single:
Can we say ‘uh huh!’
I knew we could!
Today brought about a cleaning of my Tweet folder and something that TJ Chapman of TJsDJs posted on his blog (Did Beyoncé steal “Cater 2 U”?) about a month ago prompted a bit more research. (Yes, I meant to look into this that long ago but ya’ll know how sporadic I can be!)
Short story: Rickey Allen filed a suit, saying Destiny’s Child ripped off his song, ‘Cater 2 U.’ A month ago, they were still awaiting trial (that was due to start 12/10 so my timing wasn’t TOO far off!). Today, when I looked back into it, I found news that Destiny’s Child settled a week before they were due in court. Guilty much? Oh wait, they were avoiding having to be in court for a week. Heh.
Now personally, despite the fact that it was Destiny’s Child, I thought the lyrics were dope because I’m one of the many who think women are too hung up on what their man can do for them. But now? Not so much. Great song but damn…bad form!
I just finished watchin a video of DJ Butch and Mista Kingz rocking with a live band.
Since I haven’t been able to post any of my own in a while and the band is pretty hard, I figured I’d share this:
Good stuff!
And I feel old, sittin here thinking ‘I knew them when…’
I’ll be back as soon as possible with more goodies! (Hoping the holidays will give me the chance I need to get going on my projects again!)
