I’ve abandoned ship! Well, kinda. If you’ve noticed I’m ‘missing’….

Here’s why.

So yeah, things have been pretty quiet around here. (Lots of other stuff going on as most of ya’ll know.)

Anyway, I’ve made a goal for myself: to pick a bookmark a day (I have LOTS) and do something with it. Thanks to a project at school, I ended up stumbling across The Top 10 Search Engine Optimization Tips and wanted to share it here.

I’ve written several ‘tutorials’ in my years as a WordPress geek but, until recently, it never occurred to me that it would be beneficial to everybody else (and easier on me) to just throw them out here instead of writing up a customized email for the client over and over again!

I’ve had the pleasure of coding up a design for forget.me.knot.weddings (beautiful site – AV endorsed!) and, as a result, want to share some tips and tricks for editing images. (A part two – using them in WordPress – will be coming soon!)

This is actually the second tutorial I’ve done up in recent months (no clue what happened to all my originals) but I promise the first will be posted as soon as I get it edited!

Okay…I’ve been doing a lot of talking on/around the social media lately and I think it’s time to do one big updated post to get it all outta my system. (While I procrastinate with the whole digging in the dirt bit.)

I have never been one to deal with any social media beyond IM and blogging. I was around before MySpace, Facebook, Twitter or any of that jazz. Loathed the idea, really. I got my first MySpace page to keep up with a distant friend. And, if I’m not mistaken, I didn’t sign up with Twitter or Facebook until I was under the influence of Planet Zoron.

(Started this post two hours ago and I’m just now gettin back to it, compliments of one of the best ladies I know!)

Now I have to make this relatively quick.

One thing I’ve really not wanted to do is go through to all those sites to update/promote/whatever. That’s one reason I’ve held off on expanding. It’s hard enough to maintain the websites I do without all the added hassle of plugging it! Til Magee was kind enough to turn me on to Ping.fm.

Oh man…I’m so in love!

I’ve got my Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace connected (MySpace has always been picky when it comes to cross-posting stuff) so I have regular status updates at my disposal and I have Eddy De Clercq’s super dope WordPress plugin WPing.FM. That pings Ping.FM which, in turn, pings all my social networks and tons more!

Ya’ll should really check it all out, if you’ve been sleepin like I have anyway. -grin-

Time to get back in the dirt before I have to start cookin breakfast!

In case you haven’t noticed, PoisonDesigns.com has gone through a few minor changes.

The full makeover is still very much in the works but, meanwhile, I needed some layout changes.

Bein that I was quite over dealing with others’ WordPress themes and trying to figure out where everything was, I went through and made my own. From scratch! (With a little help from WPDesigner.com and a lil bit of code snipped from Lunatic Fringe – the coolest theme I’d found yet!)

There are probably a few bugs here and there but it’s all mineeeeee!

I do Google searches every once in a while to see how things are rolling on the SEO front.

I did one today.

Searches for ‘Planet Zoron’ and ‘Poison Designs’ both turned up number 1 results for our sites! (Damn good compared to slots 7+!) And I’m almost caught up with Planet Zoron – all the way up to number 3!

Now all I have to do is boost the stats for the lower keywords. -grin-
