Okay…I’ve been doing a lot of talking on/around the social media lately and I think it’s time to do one big updated post to get it all outta my system. (While I procrastinate with the whole digging in the dirt bit.)

I have never been one to deal with any social media beyond IM and blogging. I was around before MySpace, Facebook, Twitter or any of that jazz. Loathed the idea, really. I got my first MySpace page to keep up with a distant friend. And, if I’m not mistaken, I didn’t sign up with Twitter or Facebook until I was under the influence of Planet Zoron.

(Started this post two hours ago and I’m just now gettin back to it, compliments of one of the best ladies I know!)

Now I have to make this relatively quick.

One thing I’ve really not wanted to do is go through to all those sites to update/promote/whatever. That’s one reason I’ve held off on expanding. It’s hard enough to maintain the websites I do without all the added hassle of plugging it! Til Magee was kind enough to turn me on to Ping.fm.

Oh man…I’m so in love!

I’ve got my Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace connected (MySpace has always been picky when it comes to cross-posting stuff) so I have regular status updates at my disposal and I have Eddy De Clercq’s super dope WordPress plugin WPing.FM. That pings Ping.FM which, in turn, pings all my social networks and tons more!

Ya’ll should really check it all out, if you’ve been sleepin like I have anyway. -grin-

Time to get back in the dirt before I have to start cookin breakfast!

I still haven’t gotten the HD cam back in action, but I’ve been making much use of my dad’s Canon ZR300.

I commented yesterday that I feel like I’m stuck in the 80s. -smirk- I spent a while trying to track down the IEEE cable so I could capture the video to the computer but no such luck. Lucky for me, there’s a VHS/DVD recorder in our house! I messed around and got everything set up to where I could record the line from the cam straight to DVD. (Learn somethin new every day!)

I even managed to get my DVDs decrypted to my notebook so all that’s left to do is convert the VOBs to MPGs. (If any of ya’ll know a program that works better than Nero’s Recode BS, PLEASE let me know!)

I’ve got Planet Zoron at Paradise and Down Below (Kilo was in on that one), a lil bit of XBreed at Down Below…

What else?

Ah yes – DJ Dex, Alabama Blakk, and Qwembi at Down Below! I think I’ll chop that set up first. -grin-
